Dear 2nd District Resident,
Four years ago you chose me to represent you in County government. I remain grateful for this because I've learned that my personal experience with poverty, discrimination, and working- class issues was needed during some deliberations and decisions. I promised to represent honestly, openly, and with your best interest in mind. I delivered on my promise.
Some of my representation on your behalf include:
- Chair, Public Safety Committee
- Assembled and chair, Workforce Diversity and Inclusion Committee
- Member, Budget and Capital Committee (two years)
- Advocated for zero-percent tax levy increase for 2006 budget
- Strong support of living wage legislation
- Strong support of apprenticeship program legislation
- Support new and ongoing tourism initiatives aimed at keeping downtown vibrant
Today, you've asked (some even demanded) that I continue. I see it as testament to your confidence in my representation. With your vote on Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2005, your voice will continue to be represented in County government.
